Meta is reducing its artificial intelligence division by cutting 600 jobs.
That's according to an internal memo viewed by The New York Times.
“By reducing the size of our team, fewer conversations will be required to make a decision, and each person will be more load-bearing and have more scope and impact,” said Alexandr Wang, Meta's chief AI officer, in the memo.
Meta's AI division has roughly 3,000 employees. The AI division has an umbrella name of Superintelligence Labs.
