Merriam-Webster names 'gaslighting' word of the year

Merriam-Webster's word of the year is "gaslighting."

The dictionary provider defines the word as "the act or practice of grossly misleading someone especially for one's own advantage."

Searches for the term on Merriam-Webster's website rose by 1,740% this year.
