Meredith Corp. announced Wednesday it's considering selling its Time, Sports Illustrated, Fortune and Money brands.
"These are attractive properties with strong consumer reach," Meredith President and CEO Tom Harty said in a statement. "However, they have different target audiences and advertising bases, and we believe each brand is better suited for success with a new owner."
The company also announced plans to lay off about 200 employees immediately and 1,000 more over the next 10 months.
