Mercy Villa renovates resident rooms, lobby

Posted online
Mercy Villa, a St. John’s long-term care facility, has begun a remodeling project that is expected to cost nearly $2 million.

The project, scheduled for completion in three years, will add new windows, floor and wall coverings, and lighting to all resident rooms, offices, a dining room, the activity room, the therapy room and the entryway. Mercy Villa, 1100 E. Montclair, is a 150-bed long-term care facility with three nursing units, two dining areas, a beauty shop, a landscaped courtyard and a chapel.

“With this renewal project, we will be able to use state-of-the-art technology to provide our residents with the highest level and quality of care,” said Don Swafford, Mercy Villa administrator, in a news release. “The resident rooms are going to be more family-oriented, and improving the accessibility of the lobby is going to make it easier for our residents and their families.”

St. John’s Foundation for Community Health, through its Mercy Villa Care Fund, will provide $500,000 for the project.[[In-content Ad]]
