Two local clinics for patients 65 and older have opened through a partnership between Chesterfield-based Mercy and Louisville, Kentucky-based Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM).
A 65 Prime+ by Mercy Primary Care clinic opened in Springfield on June 6, followed by a location that debuted yesterday in Nixa, according to a news release.
"You’ll notice that these clinics are located in popular shopping centers where there are restaurants, grocery stores and other services nearby,” said Lashelle Tipton, Mercy’s director of operations for southwest Missouri senior focus primary care, in the release. “That is intentional. 65 Prime+ clinics are all about ease of access and meeting our patients where they are in the community."
The two clinics are located in 3,750 square feet at 319 E. Battlefield Road in Battlefield Plaza and 3,600 square feet at 701 N. McCroskey St. at Village Marketplace in Nixa, according to past reporting. Another Springfield location, in 3,626 square feet at 1730 E. Republic Road in Southgate Shopping Center, is expected to open this fall.
The 65 Prime+ concept focuses on patients who are 65 years or older, with primary care available, and the clinics also are designed as community centers.
