The new facility will have a structural steel frame, and the exterior will be a combination of laid-up brick, a high-tech panel system and high-efficiency reflective vision and spandrel glass, according to the release.
The building’s interior design is based on an open floor plan with the maximum amount of natural light transmitted throughout. There will be private employee work stations, training and conference space, and a break room.
The project developer is Discovery Group LLC of St. Louis, and the project owner is Explorer Investments 2 LLC. The general contractor is McCown-Gordon Construction of Kansas City. Design work is by Space Inc. of St. Louis, project architect; Alper Audi & Associates, structural; EDM & Associates, mechanical and electrical engineer; and Springfield firms Scott Consulting Engineers, Palmerton & Parrish and SCI Inc. for civil, geotechnical engineering and environmental consulting, respectively.
