For the ninth consecutive year, Mercy Hospital Springfield has earned a Consumer Choice Award from the National Research Corp.
NRC collected data from more than 250,000 consumer households in the U.S., ranking the most-preferred hospitals in more than 300 U.S. markets on best overall quality, best image/reputation, best doctors and best nurses. Winners are selected from a nationwide consumer health care profile, the National Research Corporation Healthcare Market Guide, according to a news release.
“It means those patients we are striving so hard to serve believe our co-workers and the quality of the health care they provide are top-notch. This further fuels our desire to meet and exceed their expectations," Mercy Hospital Springfield President and CEO Jon Swope said in a separate release.
According to NRC’s website, 3,200 hospitals named by consumers were analyzed and ranked based on their statistical areas as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. The study has a margin of error of 0.2 percent, according to the organization.
Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and Boone Hospital Center in Columbia also earned the award in Missouri.
