For Nathan Henderson, every construction project begins long before the first shovel ever touches the ground. It begins by earning a client’s trust.
After more than two decades in commercial construction, Henderson launched A2D Constructors with a clear vision: create a company that reflects the way he believes projects should be managed. The company’s name, A2D or “Attention to Detail,” captures that philosophy. For Henderson, attention to detail extends far beyond construction drawings or punch lists. It means listening carefully, communicating openly and treating every project as if it were his own investment.
Throughout his career, Henderson has found that the best contractors don’t simply build buildings; they solve problems. Whether working alongside architects and engineers during preconstruction, helping owners navigate difficult decisions or finding practical solutions when unexpected challenges arise, he believes every project deserves thoughtful leadership from start to finish.
That approach has earned A2D Constructors the opportunity to serve clients across southwest Missouri in healthcare, education, hospitality, retail, industrial, office and multifamily development. The company provides general contracting, construction management, design-build and preconstruction services, helping clients confidently move from an initial idea to a completed facility.
For Henderson, however, construction has always been a people business. Every successful project begins with understanding a client’s goals.
Every lasting partnership is built on communication, responsiveness and follow-through. Whether answering a phone call, addressing concerns before they become costly issues or simply being available when clients need him, Henderson believes those everyday interactions are what ultimately define the construction experience.
That same philosophy influences how A2D shares its work with the community. Rather than waiting until a project is complete to showcase polished photography, the company regularly shares behind-the-scenes updates, jobsite progress and educational content that helps clients better understand the construction process. Henderson enjoys pulling back the curtain on commercial construction, believing that informed clients make better decisions and stronger partners.
As A2D Constructors continues to grow, Henderson remains focused on building far more than an impressive portfolio of completed projects. He’s building a company known for integrity, responsiveness and attention to detail: qualities that clients remember long after construction is complete. While many throughout southwest Missouri have known Henderson for years, his goal is to ensure they also know the company that now carries those same values forward.
“We want to be the kind of company people enjoy working with... not just because we build quality projects, but because they know they can trust us. If we earn that trust, everything else takes care of itself.”
Earlier than you might think. Bringing a contractor into the conversation during planning and design can help identify challenges before they become expensive problems. Preconstruction brings owners, architects, engineers and contractors together to evaluate budgets, schedules, materials and constructability. It also allows the team to explore alternatives while changes are easier and less expensive to make—helping owners make informed decisions from the start so the finished project meets their goals, budget and expectations.
