Medtronic to buy Heartware for $1.1B

Heartware International Inc., a developer of miniaturized circulatory support technologies, has agreed to be acquired by Medtronic PLC.

The deal is valued at $1.1 billion.

Medtronic expect to close the purchase in its fiscal second quarter ending Oct. 28.
