Medical marijuana dispensaries gear up for opening in Ill.

The first sales of medical marijuana could take place in Illinois within the next two weeks.

The medical marijuana program was approved by the state's lawmakers two years ago.

First, the marijuana must be tested for purity and potency, patients must receive their identification cards and dispensaries must have access to a state patient registration database.
