Phone service is available in Springfield and surrounding communities for $49.95 but is cheaper if purchased with other monthly subscriptions. Phone service with either Family Cable or Mediacom Online high-speed Internet service is $39.95, and phone service with both cable and Internet is $29.95.
The service provides unlimited calling anytime in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada. Voice mail, caller ID, three-way calling and call forwarding are included at no additional charge.
Mediacom is entering an increasingly tough telecommunications market, but Randy Hillis, senior manager of government relations, said the company hopes to be competitive with its unique offering of a video-voice-data combination.
“It’s a good time for us to enter the market – this is not only a good thing for our company, but also our customers,” he said. “It’s a very logical move for us.”
Customers do not need to sign a mandatory contract, purchase extra equipment or change their existing phone numbers to utilize Mediacom services.
