McDonald's U.S. same-store sales fall 4% in February

McDonald’s Corp.’s key sales measure for its U.S. restaurants slid last month, underlining the challenges for new CEO Steve Easterbrook in turning around the world’s largest fast-food chain.

Same-store sales fell 4 percent in February for restaurants open at leasat 13 months. That compares to analysts' expectations of a 0.7 percent drop, according to the Wall Street Journal.

McDonald’s said its poor performance “reflects the urgent need to evolve with today’s consumers, reset strategic priorities and restore business momentum.”
