McDonald's hot coffee is again in hot water.
Mabel Childress, who is in her 80s, filed suit against McDonald’s Restaurants of California Inc. The complaint alleges workers at a restaurant in San Francisco failed to tightly secure the lid on the coffee cup, causing "severe burns" to Childress when it spilled.
"We take every customer complaint seriously – and when Ms. Childress reported her experience to us later that day, our employees and management team spoke to her within a few minutes and offered assistance," said Peter Ou, the franchisee behind the restaurant. "We're reviewing this new legal claim in detail."
