McDonald's is seeking dismissal of a discrimination lawsuit filed in August.
In the suit, a group of 52 Black former franchisees alleged the fast-foot giant steered them toward nonprofitable restaurant locations. Further, it alleges they were not offered growth opportunities on the same terms as white franchisees.
McDonald's officials say the lawsuit relies on “vague and conclusory allegations" and does not provide concrete evidence of intentional race discrimination, breach of contract and fraud. The company also indicates the statute of limitations for the claims has expired.
