McDonald's announced it would begin serving quarter-pound burgers made with fresh beef, rather than frozen product.
A new process for the burger chain starting in May, the beef would be cooked fresh when it's ordered.
"What we wanted to make sure [was that we could] keep the drive-thrus open," said Joe Jasper, a McDonald's franchisee who ran the early tests of the burger. "And we've been able to crack that code."
