McDonald's reinstates mask mandate in high transmission areas

McDonald's is reinstating its face mask mandate for customers and employers at U.S. restaurants in high transmission areas.

Company officials said the decision was based on recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that calls for people to wear masks indoors, regardless of their vaccine status, in areas where COVID-19 case counts are high.

The restaurant chain dropped its mask mandate for fully vaccinated individuals in May.
