McDonald's franchise owners are not lovin' it

Who wants two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions on a sesame seed bun? No one, apparently.
 
With more consumers opting for healthier, better-quality food, McDonald's sales have been sliding for months: Sales are down 2 percent for the year after falling 15 percent last year. Now, franchise owners are balking at changes instituted by corporate, including new menu items, digital menu boards and paying higher wages.
 
According to a report by CNNMoney, it's the higher wages that have really upset franchise owners. Although the hike is being instituted at corporate-owned restaurants, franchise owners report feeling pressured to also raise wages, a move they strongly disagree with, the report states.
