McDonald’s is ending a longtime subsidy on its Happy Meals.
The subsidy, which on average provides $300 a month per restaurant, is slated to end Jan. 1.
It will be up to franchisees whether to cover the lost cost of the subsidy or pass a price increase on to customers.
