McDonald's CEO shakeup lifts stock

After months of lackluster results, McDonald's board has named a new CEO.

The company's chief brand officer, Steve Easterbrook, will replace current CEO Don Thompson, a 25-year McDonald's veteran, on March 1, according to USA Today.

McDonald's stock jumped about 3 percent in premarket trading on the news.

The ousting of its CEO comes after months of declines, criticism and change at the world's largest fast-food chain, including months of same-store sale declines.
