Springfield mattress manufacturer iSense is nearing an opening for a retail store in The Heritage apartment building that debuted earlier this year.
An announcement from iSense indicates a soft opening will be held Nov. 14, followed by a grand opening on Nov. 16. It would be iSense's first retail store, officials say.
"Springfield is not just the birthplace of our brand but also home to our manufacturing facility," company officials said in a post on its website about the new store. "We’re excited to bring our high-quality mattresses to our local community, allowing you to see, touch and test our products firsthand."
Springfield Business Journal previously reported that iSense leased one of three retail spaces on the first floor of The Heritage. Coryell Collaborative Group held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in June for the five-story apartment complex, where residents started moving in this spring. The 1364 E. Battlefield Road building, which spans 87,000 square feet, was built on the site of the Heritage Cafeteria.
Past SBJ reporting indicates iSense offers adjustable mattresses that operate through a smartphone application. A unit of parent company Advanced Sleep Technologies LLC, iSense relocated its headquarters to 424 N. Cedarbrook Ave. in 2021.
