Matt seldom waits for the news to find him. Instead, he finds his way to the news. Matt has worked with SBJ as a staff reporter since June 2006 and became an invaluable member of the editorial team on day one. Matt particularly enjoys investigative reporting assignments, requiring him to spend an extended time with a story, following each to eventual conclusion. At SBJ, Matt writes about a range of issues that are important to area businesspeople, such as transportation, energy, real estate, politics and banking.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. In addition to his education, Matt brought 10 years of experience in reporting to his current position. Matt worked as a general assignment reporter for Springfield News-Leader prior to joining the SBJ staff. Earlier in his career he did city government reporting for Northwest Arkansas Times and general reporting for The Rogers Morning News.
