Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh's office filed suit against New Jersey-based Westminster Management, a subsidiary of the Kushner Cos.
The suit alleges illegal and harmful rental practices, including rodent infestations and "numerous" violations of consumer protection laws.
President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, previously was CEO of the family business before joining the White House as a senior adviser. He maintains an ownership stake in Westminster Management.
