Maryland judge strikes down first digital ad tax in US

A Maryland judge on Monday struck down the nation's first tax on digital advertising.

Judge Alison Asti ruled the Maryland law violates the U.S. Constitution’s prohibition on state interference with interstate commerce, The Associated Press reports.

The judge additionally ruled the law violates the federal Internet Tax Freedom Act that prohibits discrimination against electronic commerce.
