Chipmaker Marvell Technology Group Ltd. penned a deal to buy rival Cavium Inc. for $6 billion.
The joint product portfolios will “expand Marvell's serviceable addressable market to more than $16 billion,” the company said in a news release.
The agreement calls for Marvell to pay $40 in cash and 2.18 of its shares for each share of Cavium.
