Project description: With an International Code Council 500 rating making it resilient in 250 mph winds, this safe room with restrooms and a mezzanine will be connected to Marshfield R-I School District’s Shook Elementary and serve both the elementary and the high school. The new facility is intended to be used for high school football, band and Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, as well as indoor recess for Shook, and it will also include a concessions area, according to school officials. The project architect is Paragon Architecture LLC, and engineers are Toth and Associates Inc., civil; and RTM Engineering Consultants LLC, structural mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
