Marketing group charters Ozarks chapter

Posted online
The Society for Marketing Professional Services, a trade group representing some 6,000 professionals in the U.S. and Canada, has chartered a chapter for the Ozarks region.

The society's 53rd chapter, SMPS Ozarks became effective today, representing marketers and business developers at architectural, engineering, construction and related specialty firms in the Springfield, Joplin and northwest Arkansas metropolitan areas, as well as the general Ozarks region, according to a news release.

"We've been working hard to bring a local SMPS chapter to this area for about a year. The (architectural, engineering and construction) industry in Joplin, Springfield and northwest Arkansas will be well served by the new Ozarks chapter," said Gabe Lett, president of the Ozarks chapter and vice president of business development for Joplin-based Tri-State Engineering, in the release.

Other SMPS Ozarks chapter officers include:
  • President-elect Kelly Hartley, client relations manager for H.E. Williams in Carthage;
  • Secretary Rachel Goeke, project engineer with Palmerton & Parrish Inc. in Springfield;
  • Treasurer Mike Anrom, an architectural sales representative for Midwest Block & Brick in Springfield;
  • Director Mike Walker, marketing director for Allgeier Martin & Associates in Joplin;
  • Director Sharon Baird, sales associate for H.E. Williams in Carthage; and
  • Director Brandon Freeman, office manager for Trekk Design Group in Springfield.
