Marijuana shops seek holiday surge with 'Green Friday'

Posted online
Some Colorado retailers have a different take on Black Friday this year as marijuana dispensaries gear up for “Green Friday.”

The first holiday season for the more than 300 pot sellers since the state legalized the drug for recreational use, retailers say they have high expectations for the shopping season, no pun intended.

Bloomberg reports one shop expects a line out the door when it opens at 8 a.m. with specials similar to standard retail stores, such as, 16 customers will get an ounce of weed for $50 that generally sells for five times that amount. Sixty joints will go for $1 each. The price for a $30 vape-pen cartridge will be cut in half.
