Mar'Ellen Felin became part of the team in July of 2007 and brought with her a wealth of experience and at least a half dozen new ways to crack the nut. Mar'Ellen's motto is: "If it ain't broke, break it so you can rebuild it. Often you can find a better solution in the process." True to her motto Mar'Ellen has provided strong leadership and new solutions for the advertising and creative staff of SBJ in her role as the Director of Advertising and Marketing. She expects high energy, creativity, hard work and fun. She has seldom been disappointed.

Mar'Ellen earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Advertising and 32 hours toward a Master of Arts in Communications from Missouri State University. Prior to joining SBJ, Mar'Ellen spent seven years at Ozarks Technical Community College as the public information officer, and more recently, worked with the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau as Director of Communications.

Mar'Ellen sees her current position as a pinnacle in her career that has brought together her various skills and knowledge from prior education and employment. Mar'Ellen had this to say: "With my original aspirations to be a journalist teamed with my business, marketing, public relations and sales background, I get the best of all worlds at Springfield Business Journal. Two of my favorite groups of people are journalists and salespeople. I can proudly say I work with the best of both at SBJ."
