March merger creates e2 Video Services

The video production companies merged March 1 and retained the name e2 Video Services.

“e2 was a little more established, in terms of local name and identification, so that is the name we kept,” said Sales and Marketing Manager Steve Eiffert, who declined to disclose specifics of the merger or company revenues.

The name of the company, now located at 1660 E. Sunshine, is pronounced “e-squared.”

“With the merger, we moved to a new location,” Eiffert said. “We needed more space.”

The company provides video services, including editing and – as a result of the merger – crewing services, which Eiffert said “is when someone hires a video crew to go out and shoot footage of sporting events or one-time news events, as well as business situations.” He added, “Companies don’t want to send a crew from a metropolitan area to the Ozarks because that’s too expensive. It’s much cheaper to hire a crew.”

Eiffert and Bill Elliott, president of e2 Video Services, both remain on staff from the original e2 Video Services. Jim Becker, president of the former Alliance Creative, now serves as the vice president of e2. Becker’s partner at Alliance Creative relocated to California and is not part of the new venture.

Eiffert said the new company employs four full-time employees, one part-time employee and several free-lancers.

“I think it is a wonderful merger,” Becker said. “It’s a great mix of minds. The personalities and philosophies that formed the new company are synced. And that makes for a very cohesive group.”

The merger also adds a fully functioning editing suite. There are now three editing suites.

“A lot of our projects are longer projects, and we need to devote an entire editing suite to that project,” Eiffert said. “Now we can.”

The company recently produced a corporate marketing video for Banta Foods. The video won the International Food Distributors Association’s Diamond and Best of Show awards at the group’s annual convention in San Diego.
