Manufacturer to invest $2M in Monett

Posted online

Huntersville, North Carolina-based outdoor recreational product manufacturer PlayPower Inc. is investing in Monett to the tune of more than $2 million.

PlayPower is adding 82 jobs as part of the expansion plans, according to a news release.

"PlayPower is proud to be a key part of the community fabric of Monett," CEO Bryan Yeazel said in the release, also crediting Gov. Mike Parson's “strong collaboration with Missouri’s businesses to encourage investment and the development of the state’s workforce."

The investment paves the way for the Monett plant to make PlayPower's Wabash Valley brand of outdoor tables, chairs and benches, among other products.

At the Monett plant, PlayPower also manufactures EZ Dock floating docks and walkways, Little Tikes Commercial playground equipment and Miracle Recreation Equipment play spaces, according to the release.

As part of its investment, PlayPower is utilizing the Missouri Works program, which provides companies with withholdings or tax credits in exchange for job creation. The release did not detail terms of the state incentives.
