Last edited 3:06 p.m., Feb. 19, 2013Springfield-based manufacturer Tank Components Industries plans to relocate into Partnership Industrial Center West, a move expected to add 27 new jobs during the next five years.
The move would place TCI in an expanded 81,000-square-foot shell building, south of the company's current operation at 4520 W. Kearney St., just outside of PIC West, according to a Feb. 19 news release from the Springfield Business Development Corp.
TCI, which currently employs 55, manufactures components for vessels and tanks, such as tank heads and cylinders, the release said.
The company is receiving local and state tax incentives, including Enhanced Enterprise Zone and Grow Missouri Loan assistance, to help enable the move and expansion, the release said.
TCI closed Jan. 31 on the purchase of the 75,000-square-foot shell building and adjacent land in PIC West and the manufacturer plans to add 6,000 square feet of office space, according to Ryan Mooney, senior vice president of economic development for the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
TCI CEO Dale Sandy said the company purchased roughly 13 acres. According to
Business4Springfield.com, PIC West lots are sold for $65,000 per acre.
Sandy said TCI hopes to move to PIC West by year-end from its 40,000-square-foot West Kearney facility.[[In-content Ad]]
