Former Trump campaign Chairman Paul Manafort is slated to appear in court today as the first defendant in special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian meddling in U.S. politics.
Attorneys plan to call witnesses to demonstrate how Manafort spent his allegedly ill-gotten gains on custom-made suits, Persian rugs and other items.
The government's case revolves around Manafort's allegedly lucrative lobbying and consulting for Ukraine for nine years.
