Special counsel Robert Mueller's office alleges Paul Manafort breached his plea deal by repeatedly lying to federal investigators.
Mueller's office is accusing President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman of engaging in "crimes and lies” about “a variety of subject matters." Prosecutors say the breaches relieve them of promises made to Manafort in the plea agreement.
Manafort's defense attorneys said he “believes he has provided truthful information."
He pleaded guilty in September to two conspiracy counts and agreed to an open-ended arrangement to answer “fully, truthfully, completely and forthrightly” questions about “any and all matters."
