MaMa Jean’s Natural Foods Market LLC unveiled a new name for its Battlefield Road market scheduled to open next month.
The concept dubbed MJ’s Market & Deli is slated to open in late May at Battlefield Market Place, 900 E. Battlefield Road, according to a news release.

The 6,900-square-foot market would focus on freshly prepared foods for dine-in and take-out options, including deli items, salads and hot entrees. The shop also would house a commercial kitchen, which will prepare grab-and-go items for all MaMa Jean’s stores, according to the release.
Steve Ames will lead the store as manager and company executive chef Kim Thirion will manage the commercial kitchen.
The store also will serve as the production preparation center for a
supply chain partnership MaMa Jean’s is building with Sustainable By Nature LLC. In the partnership, MaMa Jean’s agreed to allow Sustainable By Nature access to rooftop growing space at its Greene Circle Shopping Center store, 1110 E. Republic Road.
MaMa Jean’s, which will be honored next month in SBJ’s Dynamic Dozen awards for the area’s fastest growing companies, posted 2014 revenue of $18.3 million with three-year revenue growth of 54 percent.
