Malaysia Airlines losing another CEO

Malaysia Airlines is having trouble keeping a CEO at the helm.

Malaysia Airlines CEO Peter Bellew is stepping down from the company after about a year on the job.

Bellew took over for Christoph Mueller, who unexpectedly resigned last year. Mueller replaced Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, who was in charge during the disappearance of Flight MH370 and the shooting down of Flight MH17 in 2014.

Bellew is returning to Ryanair as chief operations officer.

Malaysia Airlines officials called cited the "unexpected announcement by Ryanair" and said its board would meet "in due course."
