Doug Harpool, Democratic candidate for the state Senate, announces May 22 his run for the 30th District seat currently held by Republican Sen. Norma Champion. Harpool made the announcement at his alma mater, Parkview High School, where students including junior Josh Casey, showed their support.

Harpool’s campaign plan, called the Return to Public Service Initiative, includes plans for “absolute separation between lobbyists, campaign consultants and elected officials.” He also calls for campaign contribution limits and a plan to make fee-office operation available only to not-for-profit groups.
