Several major Twitter accounts were hacked in an apparent Bitcoin scam.
The accounts included those operated by Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Kanye West.
"Everyone is asking me to give back," a tweet from Gates' account said. "You send $1,000, I send you back $2,000."
Twitter officials said the breach targeted employees "with access to internal systems and tools."
