Major League Soccer narrowed down a field of candidates to four finalists for two expansion teams, the league announced yesterday.
The four finalists out of 12 hopefuls are Cincinnati, Detroit, Nashville and Sacramento. St. Louis was among cities eliminated from contention.
The choice of two new teams would bring MLS to 26 members. The expansion teams are expected to start in 2020 after being named by the league in December.
