Madoff cohort gets 10 years

A former member of Bernie Madoff’s inner circle is joining the notorious Ponzi villain behind bars – and heading there with empty pockets after being ordered to forfeit $155.1 billion.

Daniel Bonventre, Madoff's former operations chief, was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison, the New York Post reports.

Bonventre was convicted on charges of securities fraud and tax evasion in helping Madoff pull off the $17.5 billion fraud scheme.
