Get ready Black Friday shoppers. If you want the best deals, you may have to miss Thanksgiving dinner with the family.
Macy’s Inc. (NYSE: M) will open its doors at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, two hours earlier than last year.
The Washington Post reports the sale time is “in response to significant, sustained customer interest” during last year’s Thanksgiving Day opening. The department store reports workers already have volunteered to cover the vast majority of shifts.
Macy’s will hire 86,000 temporary workers this season, 3.6 percent more than last year.
Other retailers such as Sears, Kohl’s (NYSE: KSS) and JC Penny (NYSE: JCP) all opened on Thanksgiving last year; however, the retailers have yet to announce sale times this season.
