Macy’s parent company, Federated Department Stores acquired Famous Barr’s parent, May Department Stores, last year.
Famous Barr operates one store in Springfield’s Battlefield Mall and two in Joplin’s Northpark Mall.
Macy’s officials say changes will include new merchandise and remodeled stores. Changes have been apparent at the Northpark Mall men’s store for several weeks.
Other additions include Macy’s private-label apparel and housewares.
