Macy’s hiring fewer seasonal workers this year

The operator of the Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s department store chains plans to hire 83,000 temporary workers this holiday season.

That's a 2 percent dip from last year.

Macy’s sales have fallen the past six straight quarters.

Among other retailers, Target plans to employ 70,000 holiday workers and Kohl's targets 69,000 extra hires. Both are flat from last year.
