Macron victory in France sends euro to 6-month high

Emmanuel Macron yesterday won the French presidential election, sending the euro to a six-month high.

Competitor Marine Le Pen sought to scrap the euro and reintroduce France's old money - the franc. France is the euro's second-biggest economy.

Macron won about 66 percent of the vote.
