M. Graham Clark Airport awaits 1st Dallas flight

Posted online

The newly constructed, 16,000-square-foot terminal of the M. Graham Clark Airport awaits its first flight May 15. Located one mile south of Branson at Point Lookout, the airport is the only FAA-licensed, privately owned airport in the country with daily scheduled commercial-flight service. Direct non-stop service from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport will be provided by the operator/carrier Aspen Mountain Air on a Dornier 328, a 32-seat jet turbo-prop aircraft.

Ozark Mountain Management Group LP controls all terminal and commercial- flight service operations, with American Port Services Inc., a worldwide airport management firm, performing all commercial flight service operations. SunWestern Managment Inc., of Dallas, Texas, is the general partner.

The terminal includes a gift shop, snack bar, Avis car-rental facility, ticketing outlet, tour-bus accessibility and a free 250-car parking lot for paying passengers. Country Tours Inc. will provide ticketing and tour services. The terminal also houses new facilities for the general aviation office of the College of the Ozarks.

MECO Construction of Springfield built the terminal, according to Hal Freybe, project manager for American Port Services. He said, "It has the most advanced security check-in and passenger screening. It also has the latest design for a small terminal and for airport furniture."

Freybe added, "It will be the first and last impression people will have visiting Branson. I want it to be the best one it can be."[[In-content Ad]]
