Ride-hailing companies Lyft and Uber are threatening to stop service in their home state of California.
The threats come as a California judge earlier this week ruled the companies must classify drivers as employees rather than independent contractors.
A ballot measure set to appear in California in November would exempt Uber and Lyfts from the state's law on independent contractors.
