Lyft settles with Calif. drivers for $27M

Ride-hailing service Lyft agreed to pay $27 million to settle a class-action suit brought by drivers in California.

The case involved whether the company misclassified drivers as independent contractors rather than employees.

Competitor Uber settled a similar suit last month with a payout that could reach $100 million.
