Luncheon focuses on national economy

Posted online
The Ozarks Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals will present its 2006 Financial Services Planning Day luncheon at noon Oct. 12 at the University Plaza Convention Center, 333 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway.

The keynote speaker is William E. Koehler, vice president of investment oversight for Kansas City-based American Century Investments. Koehler, who is a chartered financial analyst, works directly with the chief investment officer of American Century Investments. He also is a founding member of American Century’s investment oversight committee, a group of senior executives charged with making sure that investment disciplines are carried out in accordance with investment policies and principals.

His speech will focus on the national economic outlook, said Leslie Peck, president of the local SFSP chapter and owner of Peck’s Insurance & Financial Services.

“Our chapter is basically education-based for our members,” Peck said. “What we try to do during this event is to open it up for others who would like to come and learn.”

Peck said that as of Oct. 4, about 110 people have made reservations to attend the luncheon. Individual tickets are $25 and are available by calling Peck at (417) 883-1331.

Peck said the Ozarks chapter of SFSP has about 60 members who are in the financial services and insurance industries.
