Lumber Liquidators reaches $10M settlement with DOJ

Lumber Liquidators reached a $10 million settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice relating to a 2013 inquiry about the company using illegally imported timber from eastern Russia.

Trade in fish, wildlife and plants that have been illegally taken, transported or sold is prohibited under the Lacey Act.

Wednesday's settlement was unrelated to allegations that came up earlier this year when "60 Minutes" reported the company appeared to be selling laminate flooring from China with levels of formaldehyde that were higher than that permitted under California law.
