Lowe's to lay off 2,400 full-time workers

North Carolina-based home improvement retailer Lowe's has informed about 2,400 full-time employees they will lose their jobs.

According to a statement, most of the cuts are at the store levels, with others concurring at distribution centers and customer support centers. Also, some vice presidents at the company's corporate office in Mooresville are being let go.

Lowe's CEO Robert Niblock told employees in an email that the changes "will better align store staffing with customer demand, shift resources from back-of-the-store activities to customer-facing ones, and enhance our efficiency and productivity."
