Lord & Taylor plans to liquidate inventory in its 38 department stores once they reopen following coronavirus restrictions.
That's according to sources familiar with the matter, who also said the company is preparing to file for bankruptcy. Company officials do not expect the business to emerge from the process.
Founded in 1826, Lord & Taylor is billed as the oldest department store chain in the United States.
